Femkes Alu-Khosi vs Gasell Adventure GA150 2.0

The Femkes Alu-Khosi and the Gasell Adventure GA150 2.0 are both hybrid tents in the same part of the market, which makes them a genuine head-to-head rather than a comparison across categories. Femkes and Gasell Adventure take noticeably different approaches to the same problem.

The Alu-Khosi is 23 kg lighter at 62 kg against 85 kg, which on a factory roof rated for 68 to 75 kg is often the difference between a legal fit and a rack upgrade. Inside, the Alu-Khosi gives 3.12 m² of sleeping floor against 2.8 m², about 11 percent more, though both are rated for 2. The GA150 2.0 lists $275 lower, at $3,396 against $3,671.

They open differently: the Alu-Khosi is a fold-out and the GA150 2.0 a clamshell. That is not cosmetic — it decides whether headroom is even across the tent or tapers towards one end, and how much of the roof the tent occupies when closed. The Alu-Khosi uses aluminium, waterproof; the GA150 2.0 uses aluminum. Canvas differs too: polyester mix with cotton 200 gr canvas, waterproof and fire retardant; awning Oxford 210D with silver coating against poly-cotton, 320 g/m2, PU-coated, 4000 mm waterproof rating.

Femkes

Alu-Khosi

The Alu-Khosi is the aluminium-shelled version of Femkes's fold-out hybrid, opening to the side of the vehicle onto an interior of about 215 x 145 cm. Its aluminium lid gives it a slimmer 27 cm closed profile than the ABS Khosi, and it includes a fixed awning, a removable zip-on awning with telescopic poles, and a roof window. Femkes lists an approximate 62 kg weight including ladder and mattress.

  • Aluminium shell packs down to a 27 cm closed height
  • Removable zip-on awning with telescopic poles included
  • Roof window and winter-liner compatibility
  • 4 cm mattress is thinner than Femkes's clamshell models

Gasell Adventure

GA150 2.0

The GA150 2.0 is Gasell Adventure's aluminium-shell flip-up tent that opens on hydraulic gas struts to a 120 cm interior height and a 204 x 150 cm floor from a 150 x 115 cm packed size. Gasell lists an 85 kg tent weight, a 400 kg maximum roof load, a 50 mm memory-foam mattress, poly-cotton fabric (320 g/m2, 4000 mm) and app-controlled dimmable LED lighting, with a stated 1-2 minute setup. It is rated by the maker for two adults and up to two small children.

  • Aluminium shell with a high 400 kg maximum roof-load rating
  • App-controlled dimmable LED lighting inside and outside
  • Includes a 50 mm memory-foam mattress and 320 g/m2 / 4000 mm poly-cotton fabric
  • The heaviest of Gasell Adventure's current roof tents at 85 kg

Which one to pick

Take the Alu-Khosi if your roof load limit is the binding constraint. Take the Alu-Khosi if you need the sleeping room more than you need the lighter tent. Beyond that the feature rows below — heater port, skylight, annex, cargo rails — are where the remaining difference lies.
