Femkes Alu Khosi Family vs Wild Land Skyera
The Femkes Alu Khosi Family and the Wild Land Skyera are both hardshell tents in the same part of the market, which makes them a genuine head-to-head rather than a comparison across categories. Femkes and Wild Land take noticeably different approaches to the same problem.
The Alu Khosi Family is 17.5 kg lighter at 82 kg against 99.5 kg, which on a factory roof rated for 68 to 75 kg is often the difference between a legal fit and a rack upgrade. Inside, the Skyera gives 4.7 m² of sleeping floor against 3.87 m², about 21 percent more, though both are rated for 3. The Alu Khosi Family lists $949 lower, at $4,050 against $4,999.
They open differently: the Alu Khosi Family is a fold-out and the Skyera a pop-up. That is not cosmetic — it decides whether headroom is even across the tent or tapers towards one end, and how much of the roof the tent occupies when closed. The Alu Khosi Family uses aerodynamic ABS, waterproof; the Skyera uses transparent anti-UV polycarbonate (PC). Canvas differs too: oxford 210D with silver coating, 300% waterproof against 280g rip-stop polycotton PU2000mm. Closed, the Alu Khosi Family sits 5 cm lower on the roof — 27 cm against 32 cm — which is drag you carry on every mile you are not camping.
Femkes

The Alu Khosi Family is the family-size fold-out in Femkes's Khosi line, sleeping three persons plus a child on an interior of about 215 x 180 cm with a 129 cm peak height. It includes a sky window, a zip-on awning of roughly 300 x 350 cm, storage compartments, and a 2.3 m ladder. Femkes lists a closed size of 197 x 141 x 27 cm and an approximate 82 kg weight including the mattress.
- 129 cm peak height, the tallest interior among Femkes's tents
- Zip-on awning (~300 x 350 cm) and 2.3 m ladder included
- Sky window for overhead ventilation
- Approximately 82 kg is the heaviest of Femkes's range
Wild Land
Skyera
The Skyera is Wild Land's automatic scissor-lift hardshell, opening and closing at one touch in about 60 seconds via an electric motor with a manual backup. Its shell is anti-UV transparent polycarbonate that gives an overhead sky view, and it sleeps 2-3. It is one of the automatic models in Wild Land's current range.
- One-touch automatic setup in about 60 seconds
- Transparent polycarbonate roof for sky viewing
- Emergency manual lifting mode and alarm system
- Relatively heavy at 99.5 kg
Which one to pick
Take the Alu Khosi Family if the budget is fixed. Take the Skyera if you need the sleeping room more than you need the lighter tent. Beyond that the feature rows below — heater port, skylight, annex, cargo rails — are where the remaining difference lies.
