ARB Intrepid 2.0 (1285mm) vs Eezi-Awn Dart
The ARB Intrepid 2.0 (1285mm) and the Eezi-Awn Dart are both hardshell tents in the same part of the market, which makes them a genuine head-to-head rather than a comparison across categories. ARB and Eezi-Awn take noticeably different approaches to the same problem.
By the numbers, the ARB Intrepid 2.0 (1285mm) brings 70 kg, 2.89 m² of floor, 138 cm of headroom and sleeps 2. The Eezi-Awn Dart counters with 70 kg, 140 cm of headroom and sleeps 2.
Their list prices are within a few percent of each other, so price is unlikely to decide this one.
The Intrepid 2.0 (1285mm) uses honeycomb aluminium; the Dart uses fibreglass (lightweight white fibreglass body). Canvas differs too: 300D double rip-stop polycotton, PU coated against 260 g Teflon-coated polyester ripstop. Closed, the Intrepid 2.0 (1285mm) sits 14 cm lower on the roof — 18 cm against 32 cm — which is drag you carry on every mile you are not camping.
