Horntools Track 130 vs Wild Land Lite Cruiser 120 XL

The Horntools Track 130 and the Wild Land Lite Cruiser 120 XL are both softshell tents in the same part of the market, which makes them a genuine head-to-head rather than a comparison across categories. Horntools and Wild Land take noticeably different approaches to the same problem.

By the numbers, the Horntools Track 130 brings 46 kg, 2.86 m² of floor, 110 cm of headroom and sleeps 2. The Wild Land Lite Cruiser 120 XL counters with 34 kg, 2.76 m² of floor, 100 cm of headroom and sleeps 2.

The Lite Cruiser 120 XL is 12 kg lighter at 34 kg against 46 kg, which on a factory roof rated for 68 to 75 kg is often the difference between a legal fit and a rack upgrade. Floor area is close to identical at 2.86 m² and 2.76 m², so neither wins on sleeping room. Their list prices are within a few percent of each other, so price is unlikely to decide this one.

Canvas differs too: breathable sailcloth (300 g/m2), 80% cotton, 20% polyester (water column 2000 mm); rain cover 3000 mm against 210D ripstop poly-oxford 3000mm silver-coated outer; 190g rip-stop polycotton PU2000mm inner; 210D poly-oxford PU2000mm floor; 600D oxford PU5000mm cover. The Lite Cruiser 120 XL adds integrated LED lighting, which the Track 130 does not offer. Closed, the Track 130 sits 8 cm lower on the roof — 25 cm against 33 cm — which is drag you carry on every mile you are not camping.

Which one to pick

Take the Lite Cruiser 120 XL if your roof load limit is the binding constraint. Beyond that the feature rows below — heater port, skylight, annex, cargo rails — are where the remaining difference lies.
