Direct4x4 ClamTrekk vs Femkes Lifun
The Direct4x4 ClamTrekk and the Femkes Lifun are both hardshell tents in the same part of the market, which makes them a genuine head-to-head rather than a comparison across categories. Direct4x4 and Femkes take noticeably different approaches to the same problem.
By the numbers, the Direct4x4 ClamTrekk brings 76 kg and sleeps 2. The Femkes Lifun counters with 74 kg, 2.75 m² of floor, 95 cm of headroom and sleeps 2.
On weight they are effectively level — 76 kg against 74 kg — so the roof load question resolves the same way for both. Their list prices are within a few percent of each other, so price is unlikely to decide this one.
The ClamTrekk uses honeycomb aluminium; the Lifun uses aerodynamic ABS, waterproof, bottom fitted with upholstery. Canvas differs too: 65% polyester / 35% cotton, mould-proof, water resistant 10,000 mm against polyester mix with cotton 280 gr fabric, waterproof and fire-retardant. Closed, the ClamTrekk sits 11 cm lower on the roof — 20 cm against 31 cm — which is drag you carry on every mile you are not camping.
