Gordigear Tanami Plus vs Gordigear Tanami Pro

Both of these are Gordigear tents, so the question is not which brand to trust but which size and configuration suits your vehicle and how you camp. The Tanami Plus and the Tanami Pro share Gordigear's construction and warranty; where they part company is in the numbers below.

The Tanami Plus is 7 kg lighter at 59 kg against 66 kg, which on a factory roof rated for 68 to 75 kg is often the difference between a legal fit and a rack upgrade. Floor area is close to identical at 4.61 m² and 4.61 m², so neither wins on sleeping room. Both list at $1,863, so price cannot decide this one at all.

Canvas differs too: 265 gr/m2 ripstop polyester-cotton blend, waterproof, polyurethane impregnated and UV resistant against 320 gr/m2 ripstop polyester-cotton blend, waterproof with polyurethane impregnation.

Gordigear

Tanami Plus

The Tanami Plus is Gordigear's mid-tier folding softshell, offered in 140 cm (2-person), 165 cm (2-3 person) and 180 cm (3-person) widths, all currently at the same price. It uses an 80 mm compressed-foam mattress and a 265 gr/m2 ripstop polyester-cotton canopy, with a manual setup of about two minutes. Packed width varies from 144 to 184 cm by size and Gordigear states there is no roof window.

  • Three widths from 2 to 3 people at a single list price
  • 80 mm mattress and 300 kg stated interior load capacity
  • Covered entrance and tropical roof for weather protection
  • Open dimensions are not published per size, so floor area cannot be derived

Gordigear

Tanami Pro

The Tanami Pro is the top folding softshell in Gordigear's Tanami range, offered in 140, 165, 180 and 220 cm widths spanning 2 to 4 people. It uses a heavier 320 gr/m2 ripstop polyester-cotton canopy than the Plus and Light models, an 80 mm mattress, and 25 mm convex poles that Gordigear says add wind stability. Setup is manual at about two minutes.

  • Widest size choice in the Tanami line, up to a 4-person 220 cm version
  • Heavier 320 gr/m2 canopy versus the 265 gr/m2 on the Plus and Light
  • Taped double-stitched seams and a stated 300 kg interior load capacity
  • Packed and open dimensions are not published per size

Which one to pick

Take the Tanami Plus if your roof load limit is the binding constraint. Beyond that the feature rows below — heater port, skylight, annex, cargo rails — are where the remaining difference lies.
